A fine and sunny day, with some cloud and the cold F3 north easterly.  Watches: 0630-0945.

Migrants numbers were slightly up for some species and boosted by returning breeders to the area with, 30 Whimbrel, a Green Sandpiper, 24 Little Tern, 1 Cuckoo, 2 Short-eared Owl, 100 Sand Marttin, 7 Swallow, a House Martin, 5 Willow Warbler, 30 Chiffchaff, 7 Sedge Warbler, 3 Reed Warbler, 2 Grasshopper Warbler, 9 Blackcap, 9 Lesser Whitethroat, 27 Whitethroat, 14 Goldcrest, 70 Starling, a Ring Ouzel, 26 Fieldfare, a Redwing, 4 Song Thrush, 2 Black Redstart, 2 Wheatear, 6 Yellow Wagtail, 3 White Wagtail, a Brambling and a Siskin.

The Great White Egret was around the KiInsea area, a Pale-bellied Brent and 2 Little Gull on KIlnsea wetlands, where small numbers of Duck remained including 7 Gadwalll, 5 Wigeon, 10 Teal and 3 Tufted Duck. 

The best of the movement today were 78 Curlew out east, while a Grey Heron, 16 Carrion Crow, 5 Swallow and 2 Lesser Redpoll went south.

Ringing: 1 Moorhen, 2 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap, 1 Whitethroat, 2 Goldcrest, 1 Brambling.

Sunny spells with rain/hail showers and a F4 north easterly.  Watches: 0615-0915.

Migrant  numbers and returning breeders were up for some species like the 11 Little Tern now at Beracon ponds, back on territory. There was also 25 Whimbrel, 50 Swallow, 25 Swallow, 9 Willow Warbler, 26 Chiffchaff, 8 Sedge Warbler, 2 Reed Warbler, a Grasshopper Warbler, 4 Blackcap, 6 Lesser Whitethroat, 16 Whitethroat, 11 Goldcrest, 70 Starling, a Ring Ouzel, 26 Fieldfare, 3 Song Thrush, a Black Redstart, 1 Redstart, 11 Wheatear, 14 Yellow Wagtail, a White Wagtail, 2 Barmbling, a Bullfinch and 1 Siskin.

The day aslo saw a Great White Egret still present which then went south, the Cetti's Warbler again at the Point and the Whooper Swan remain at Kilnsea wetlands along with 418 Dark-bellied Brent and 4 Tufted Duck.

A trickle of movement saw 2 Barnacle Geese go north and 9 Curlew go out east, while Passerine movement was again poor, a Sand Martin, 8 Swallow and a House Martin the best.

Ringing: 5 Chiffchaff, 1 Reed Warbler, 4 Goldcrest, 1 Blackbird, 2 Robin, 1 Bullfinch.

A generally sunny day with the continuing F4 north easterly.  Watches: 0615-0915.

A small arrival of migrants brought the first 'rattling' 3 Lesser Whitethroat to the area plus 45 Whimbrel, 16 Willow Warbler, 20 Chiffchaff, 4 Sedge Warbler, a Grasshopper Warbler, 14 Blackcap, 12 Whitethroat, 4 Goldcrest, 7 Fieldfare, 5 Song Thrush, a Black Redstart, 1 Redstart, 9 Wheatear, 6 Yellow Wagtail, a White Wagtail, 2 Lesser Redpoll and 4 Siskin. The drake Garganey was presewnt again on Kilnsea wetlands along with the Whooper Swan, the 2 Great White Egret in the long bank/kilnsea wetlands area and the Cettis's Warbler still at the Point.

The best of the movement today saw 107 Arctic Tern fly out east, but apart from 10 Fulmar, 4 Sandwich Tern and a Little Tern it was quiet.

Ringing: 6 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap, 1 Blackbird.

A grey overcast day with showers throughout and a cool F3 north easterly.  Watches: 0630-0930. 

The month is slowly ticking to an end, and again migarnt numbers are low. Saying that the first drake Garganey of the spring was on KIlnsea wetlands and the first House Martin flew south sawy from the cold weather. The day aslo saw 2 Hawfinch, singles at the Point and in the triangle, 2 Great White Egret in the Kilnsea wetlands/Easington lagoon area and the resident Cetti's Warbler at thhe Point.

Migrant numbers were a Little-ringed Plover, 6 Whimbrel, a Common Sandpiper, 2 Cuckoo, 24 Sand Martin, 7 Willow Warbler, 9 Chiffchaff, 5 Blackcap, 7 Whitethroat, 2 Goldcrest, 4 Fieldfare, 3 Song Thrush, a Redstart, 32 Wheatear, 5 Yellow Wagtail, a Lesser Redpoll and 5 Siskin.

The usual Whooper Swan remained at Kilnsea wetlands, 200 Brent Geese and 4 Tufted Duck.

Ringing: 2 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap, 1 Goldfinch, 2 Siskin, 1 Lesser Redpoll.

Sunny morning, clouding over with a chilly F3 north easterly.  Watches: 0630-0940.

Migrants numbers remained steady, though the first Swift of the year, flying south, was very welcome along with a Little-ringed Plover, 28 Whimbrel, a Common Sandpiper, 2 Cuckoo, a Short-eared Owl, 62 Sand Martin, 9 Swallow, 4 Willow Warbler, 7 Chiffchaff, 5 Sedge Warbler, 2 Reed Warbler, a Grasshopper Warbler, 4 Blackcap, 11 Whitethroat, 5 Goldcrest, a Ring Ouzel, 3 Song Thrush, 2 Redstart, 13 Wheatear, 4 Yellow Wagtail, a Brambling, 3 Lesser Redpoll and a Siskin.

Yet again poor for overland movement, the continued winds from the north not conjusive with just 7 Jackdaw, 3 Rook, 11 Carrion Crow, 2 Skylark, 8 Sand Martin, 11 Swallow, 2 Flava Wagtail and an Alba Wagtail, with 23 Curlew and 11 Arctic Tern heading out east.

A Great White Egret was on Kilnsea wetlands along with the Whooper Swan, 2 Tufted Duck, 4 Little Egret and 2 Greenshank.

Ringing: 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff. 1 Goldfinch.

Sunny spells with a F4 north easterly.  Watches: 0530-0900.

Migrants totals remained at decent levels including a good total of 29 Whimbrel, plus a Woodcock, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Cuckoo, a Short-eared Owl, a Coal Tit, 10 Willow Warbler, 12 Chiffchaff, 3 Sedge Warbler, 2 Grasshopper Warbler, 5 Blackcap, 7 Whitethroat, 7 Goldcrest, a Ring Ouzel, 2 Fieldfare, 3 Song Thrush, 3 Redstart, 18 Wheatear, 6 Yellow Wagtail and a Brambling.

It was quiet again for the vis miggers, but another Common Buzzard went south along with 15 Sand Martin, 16 Swallow, a Flava Wagtail, 1 Alba Wagtail and 12 Goldfinch.

The Whooper Swan continued its stay on Kilnsea wetlands along with a Pale-bellied Brent and 2 Tufted Duck. 

Ringing: 3 Willow Warbler, 1 Blackcap, 1 Goldcrest, 1 Wren, 1 Robin, 2 Chaffinch.

Overcast clearing to a sunny day, warm out of the chilly F3 north easterly.  Watches: 0530-1225.

A Woodlark gave fantastic views on Canal scrape, having flown south, then retunring back north and possiblty the bird from yesterday. A Hawfinch was in the triangle, while further totals from today were 3 Short-eared Owl, 6 Common Sandpiper, a Green Sandpiper, 5 Cuckoo, 45 Sand Martin, 24 Willow Warbler, 23 Chiffchaff, a Siberian Chiffchaff, 7 Sedge Warbler, 2 Reed Warbler at Sammy's (first of year), the Cetti's Warbler still at the Point, 14 Blackcap, 19 Whitethroat, 3 Goldcrest, 2 Ring Ouzel, 4 Fieldfare, a Black Redstart, 2 Redstart, 27 Wheatear, 10 Yellow Wagtail, 2 White Wagtail, 2 Brambling, a Mealy Redpoll at Kew, 3 Lesser Redpoll, 3 Siskin and a Snow Bunting.

It was a good day for birds heading out east with 205 Bar-tailed Godwit the highlight plus 21 Oystercatcher, 30 Whimbrel, a Ruff, 1 Greenshank, 14 Black-headed Gull, 5 Little Gull, a Sandwich Tern and 2 Arctic Tern, while overland south bound were a Marsh Harrier, 1 Common Buzzard, 3 Jackdaw, 7 Rook, 97 Carrion Crow, 37 Sand Marttin, 15 Swallow, 6 Flava Wagtail, 4 Alba Wagtail, 2 Chaffinch, 9 Goldfinch and 2 Corn Bunting.

Ringing: 1 Wood Pigeon, 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Willow Warbler, 5 Blackcap, 1 Blackbird, 1 Brambling.

A nice sunny day with a brisk F3 south easterly.  Watches: 0605-1135.

The best of today's sightings was a Woodlark, which flew south at the Warren early morning, while migrant totals were 19 Whimbrel, a Common Sandpiper, 1 Green Sandpiper, a Cuckoo, 4 Sand Martin, 4 Swallow, 6 Willow Warbler, 8 Chiffchaff, a Sedge Warbler, 2 Grasshopper,5 Blackcap, 13 Whitethroat, 2 Goldcrest, 3 Ring Ouzel, 4 Song Thrush, 15 Wheatear, 12 Yellow Wagtail, 2 White Wagtail, a Tree Pipit, 2 Lesser Redpoll and a Snow Bunting.

There was a bit of movement overland, 3 Canada Geese, 3 Jackdaw, 12 Rook, 30 Carrion Crow, 3 Skylark, 19 Sand Martin, 24 Swallow, 5 Alba Wagtail, 2 White Wagtail, 2 Alba Wagtail, 9 Chaffinch, 17 Linnet, 3 Goldfinch and a Siskin, (aswell as the Woodlark mentioned above), while over the sea a Goldeneye and 15 Curlew and 16 Little Gull out east.

The best of the sightings around the Kilnsea wetlands area were the Whooper Swan, 400 Brent Geese and 2 Marsh Harrier.

Ringing: 2 Chiffchaff, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Blackcap, 1 Blackbird, 1 Goldfinch.

A warm sunny day with a F3 south easterly.  Watches: 0630-0930.

Migrants totals, probably included breeders arriving back on territories, but inceases regardless and included the first 2 Cuckoo of the spring plus 10 Whimbrel, a Common Sandpiper, a Short-eared Owl, 68 Sand Martin, 7 Swallow, the 'resident' Cetti's Warbler, 4 Willow Warbler, 13 Chiffchaff, 4 Sedge Warbler, 2 Grasshopper Warbler, 9 Blackcap, 16 Whitethroat, 4 Goldcrest, 6 Song Thrush, a Black Redstart, a Stonechat, 12 Wheatear, 25 Yellow Wagtail, a White Wagtail, a Lesser Redpoll and 3 Siskin.

The highlight for the vis migers was 172 Curlew heading out east, many in excited bubbling or in full song, with a Little Gull heading the same way. It was slow again for Passerine movement, a Snow Bunting being the best along with a Marsh Harrier, 1 Lapwing, Little-ringed Plover, 39 Rook, 76 Carrion Crow, 12 Sand Martin, 1 Swallow, a Flava Wagtail, 2 Goldfinch and a Ciorn Bunting.

Other bits of note included the usual Whooper Swan, 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Pale-bellied Brent and 340 Brents, while much lower numbers of 'wintering' Wildfowl remain with just 16 Wigeon and 20 Teal.

Ringing: 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap, 1 Great Tit, 1 Robin, 2 Chaffinch, 1 Goldfinch.

A bright sunny day with a moderate north easterly.  Watches: 0630-1100.

It was a decent morning for birds heading east out from the Humber, but little heading south. The first good count of 57 Arctic Tern headed out east along with 2 Kittiwake, a Curlew, 22 Redshank, an Eider and 4 Common Scoter. The best of south bound migrants were 5 Common Buzzard, a Marsh Harrier and 6 Sand Martin.

The first Common Sandpiper of the year was on Kilnsea wetlands, where the male Blue-headed Wagtail remained. Other migrant totals numbers were up and consisted of 6 Whimbrel, a Green Sandpiper, a Long-eared Owl, 2 Short-eared Owl, 65 Sand Martin, 6 Swallow, 14 Willow Warbler, 6 Chiffchaff, 2 Sedge Warbler, a Grasshopper Warbler, 10 Blackcap, 7 Whitethroat, a Goldcrest, 5 Song Thrush, a Stonechat, 13 Wheatear, 8 Yellow Wagtail, 11 Pied Wagtail, 2 Brambling, 2 Lesser Redpoll ands 6 Siskin.

The Whooper Swan was still on Kilnsea wetlands along with 2 Pale-bellied Brent, 535 Dark-bellied Brents and 2 Tufted Duck.

Ringing: 3 Chiffchaff, 4 Willow Warbler, 4 Blackcap, 1 Chaffinch, 1 Goldfinch, 1 Lesser Redpoll.

Early fog cleared by mid morning leaving a sunny day with the continuing light south easterly.  Watches:0630-1140.

It was a better day for birds on the move and small increases in grounded migrants (or breeders arriving on territories). a Little-ringed Plover, 11 Whimbrel, . Long-eared Owl, 2 Short-eared Owl, the Cetti's Warbler, 9 Willow Warbler, 13 Chiffchaff, 3 Sedge Warbler, a Grasshopper Warbler, 6 Blackcap, 7 Whitethroat, a Firecrest, 1 Goldcrest, a Redwing, 3 Fieldfare, a Black Redstart, 1 Stonechat, just one Wheatear, a male Blue-headed Wagtail, 7 Yellow Wagtail, 13 Pied Wagtail, a Lesser Redpoll and 1 Siskin.

The vis miggers had a better day with a Sparrowhawk, 3 Marsh Harrier, a ringtail Hen Harrier, 1 Common Buzzard, a Little-ringed Plover, 4 Jackdawm 3 Rook, a Woodlark, 3 Skylark, 116 Sand Martin, 42 Swallow, 3 Flava Wagtail, 5 Alba Wagtail, a Brambling, 1 Greenfinch, 96 Linnet and 12 Goldfinch.

Other bits of note included the Whooper Swan remaining, a Pale-bellied Brent still present among 400 Brent Geese and 2 Tufted Duck still on Kilnsea wetlands.

Ringing: 2 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap, 1 Song Thrush, 3 Goldfinch, 1 Lesser Redpoll.

Overcast with sunny spells patchy fog in the afternoon with a light south easterly.  Watches: 063-:0915.

Inland the weather is warm and sunny allowing migrants to push through, while on the coast the cool weather continues and a trickle of migrants saw our first of the spring Grasshopper Warbler in Kilnsea and 2 Sandwich Tern at Kilnsea wetlands. Migrants numbers otherwise were slightly up overall with 7 Whimbrel, 2 Short-eared Owl, 45 Sand Martin, 7 Swallow, 7 Willow Warbler, 11 Chiffchaff, 3 Blackcap, 2 Whitethroat, 4 Goldcrest, a Redwing, 6 Song Thrush, 3 Wheatear, 7 Yellow Wagtail, 15 Pied Wagtail, a White Wagtail, 3 Lesser Redpoll and 2 Siskin.

Movement was again slow with 3 Carrion Crow, 6 Sand Martin, 2 Swallow, 2 Flava Wagtail, a Siskin and 1 Corn Bunting, while 78 Curlew, 6 Black-headed Gull and 3 Arctic Tern headed out east. 

The kilnsea wetland area held 500 Brent Geese, 3 Pale-bellied Brent, the Whooper Swan, 2 Tufted Duck, 62 Wigeon and 38 Teal among the usuals.

Ringing: 1 Wood Pigeon, 3 Chiffchaff, 4 Willow Warbler, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 2 Blackcap, 1 Blackbird, 1 Chaffinch, 3 Goldfinch.

A day of sunny spells and a F3 south easterly.  Watches: 0640-1105.

Migrants numbers are still down, with still few Wheatear or Warblers passing through, but the day did see the first Little Tern of the year on Beacon ponds and 3 Whitethroat belting out their scratchy song at Sammy's. Further migrants included a Short-eared Owl, 40 Sand Martin, 12 Swallow, 12 Chiffchaff, a Sedge Warbler, a Blackcap, 5 Goldcrest, 3 Fieldfare, 3 Redwing, a Black Redstart, 3 Wheatear, 8 Yellow Wagtail, a White Wagtail and 1 Siskin.

On the move today were 2 Little Egret, a Marsh Harrier, 11 Jackdaw, 14 Riook, 23 Carrion Crow, a Sand Martin, 2 Swallow, a Flava Wagtail and 2 Alba Wagtail, while a good total of 125 Curlew flew out east.

Ringing: 3 Chiffchaff, 1 Goldcrest, 1 Black Reestart, 1 Chaffinch, 1 Linnet.

A sunny morning, cloudy in the afternnon with a F3 south easterly.  Watches: 0620-0930.

While we feel we should be getting good numbers of migrants by now, it still amonts to a trickle of birds and today was the same, widely scattered and  final totals of a Short-eared Owl, 1 Coal Tit, 10 Swallow, the Cetti's Warbler still singing at the Point, 3 Willow Warbler, 15 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap, 1 Goldcrest, a Ring Ouzel at the Riding school, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Redwing, 3 Song Thrush, a Black Redstart, 1 Lesser Redpoll and a Siskin.

The vis-miggers had another poor morning, though a few birds of prey, headed south with oving a Grey Heron, 3 Sparrowhawk, 3 Common Buzzard, 2 Rook, 11 Carrion Crow, 10 Swallow, a Chffchaff, 1 Flava Wagtail, a Greenfinch and 1 Corn Bunting, with a Bar-tailed Godwit heading out east.

Ringing: 1 Blackcap, 1 Goldcrest, 1 Coal Tit, 3 Linnet.

Light rain showers in the morning gave way to a fine sunny day with a cool moderate easterly.  Watches: 0635-0945.

The first 2 Arctic Tern of the spring flew north past the seawatch hide, while other migrants included a Little-ringed Plover, 2 Jack Snipe, 32 Sand Martin, 4 Swallow, the Cetti's Warbler still singing at the Point, 3 Willow Warbler, 18 Chiffchaff, a Sedge Warbler at Chalky point, 3 Blackcap, a Firecrest singing on Beacon lane, 5 Goldcrest, a Redwing, 3 Song Thrush, a Black Redstart, 4 Stonechat, 2 Wheatear, 3 Yellow Wagtail, a White Wagtail, 9 Pied Wagtail, 9 Chaffinch, 2 Brambling and a Lesser Redpoll.

The best of the movement today saw 57 Curlew 'bubble' their way out east, with 6 Swallow, a Flava Wagtail, 2 Alba Wagtail, 2 Meadow Pipit, a Brambling and a Siskin south, while 3 Pintail and a Fulmar were the pick of movement over the sea.

The Kilnsea wetlands area held the Whooper Swan, 639 Brent Geese, 2 Pale-bellied Brent and a Tufted Duck, with 2 Red-breasted Merganser on the Humber and 7 Common Buzzard wandering the area.

Ringing: 5 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap, 1 Goldcrest, 1 Blackbird, 2 Robin, 1 Chaffinch, 1 Greenfinch.

A warm sunny day with a cool F3 north easterly.  Watches: 0630-0915.

Migrants were again generally low in numbers, but a nice male Common Redstart in North field made up for it, along with a Hooded Crow, 1 Green Sandpiiper, a Short-eared Owl, 14 Sand Martin, 30 Swallow, the Cetti's Warbler, a Willow Warbler, 10 Chiffchaff, a Sedge Warbler again at Chalky point, 1 Blackcap, a Goldcrest, 4 Song Thrush, 1 Mistle Thrush, 4 Yellow Wagtail and 2 White Wagtail.

A trickle of movement overland saw a Marsh Harrier, 1 Grey Heron, 17 Jackdaw, 28 Rook, 2 Sand Martin, 4 Swallow, a Flava Wagtail, 2 Alba Wagtail and a Siskin heading south.

Ringing: 1 Blackbird, 1 Chaffinch, 3 Linnet.

a Fine and sunny day with a F2-3 north easterly.  Watches: 0640-0940.

A nice male Hawfinch at Rose cottage was the highlight of the day, closely followed by a 3cy male Hen Harrier which had been ringed on Texel in the Netherlands and 2 Green Sandpipier on Beacon ponds were new for the year. Other migrants included a Little-ringed Plover, 1 Short-eared Owl, 26 Sand Martin, 15 Swallow, the Cetti's Warbler still at the Point, 2 Willow Warbler, 12 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap, 5 Goldcrest, a Redwing, 4 Song Thrush, a Black Redstart, 1 Wheatear, 3 Yellow Wagtail, a White Wagtail, 23 Pied Wagtail, 15 Chaffinch and a Siskin.

Overland movement was again steady with a 6 Jackdaw, 5 Rook, 2 Carrion Crow, a Flava Wagtail, 4 Alba Wagtail, 10 Meadow Pipit, 3 Chaffinch, a Brambling, 1 Greenfinch and a Corn Bunting, with 61 Common Scoter the best of the sea.

Ringing: 1 Tree Sparrow, 1 Chaffinch, 2 Goldfinch, 5 Linnet, 1 Siskin.

A warm sunny day with a F2 northerly.  Watches: 0640-0940.

There was a small increase in migrant numbers, the warming weather along with the reduced cold wind at last giving some enouragment for the weeks ahead. Migrants were well scattered in the area with a Jack Snipe, 1 Short-eared Owl, 65 Sand Martin, the Cetti's Warbler, 5 Willow Warbler, 17 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap, a Goldcrest, 4 Song Thrush, 5 Wheatear, a Blue-headed Wagtail, 6 Yellow Wagtail, a White Wagtail and 19 Pied Wagtail.

Visible migration was yet again limited, an Iceland Gull the highlight along with 2 Common Buzzard, 8 Curlew out east, 3 Rook, 28 Carrion Crow, 10 Swallow, 35 Linnet and 11 Goldfinch.

Other sightings in the Kilnsea wetlands area included the Whooper Swan, 2 Pale-bellied Brent, 90 Wigeon, 22 Teal, 2 Tufted Duck, 11 Little Egret and 7 Black-tailed Godwit.

Ringing: 1 Chaffinch, 1 Goldfinch, 2 Linnet.

Frosty start soon became a largely sunny day, but with the cool F4 north westerly remaining.  Watches: 0630-0930.

Migrants were still present in small number with 2 Whimbrel, 2 Short-eared Owl, 4 Sand Martin, a Swallow, 1 Willow Warbler, 11 Chffchaff, 2 Blackcap, a Goldcrest, 1 Fieldfare, 2 Redwing, 2 Song Thrush, a Black Redstart, 1 Wheatear and 2 Brambling.

The Great White Egret remained on Kilnsea wetlands along with 2 Pale-bellied Brents among 60 Brent Geese, the Whooper Swan and 3 Tufted Duck.

There was little movement of note, though a Great Spotted Woodpecker flew south.

A mixed day of sun, sleet and snow showers throughout with the cold F3-4 north easterly.  Watches: 0635-0935.

The pick of the days sightings included the Great White Egret still on Kilnsea wetlands, where the Black Brant remained along with a Pale-bellied Brent and the Whooper Swan. Nearby a Jack Snipe and 2 Greenshank were on Beacon ponds.

A scatter of migrants included a Whimbrel, 1 Short-eared Owl, the Cetti's Warbler, suprisingly remaining, and still singing at the Point, 2 Chiffchaff, 3 Goldcrest, 13 Chaffinch and a Bullfinch.

Ringing: 1 Blackbird, 1 Chaffinch, 1 Goldfinch.

Sunny and warm out of the cool F3 north easterly. Watches: 0640-0940.

The wind stuck in the northerly vector is making migration slow progress, with still few migrants about and cool weather for a few more days at least. There was a small decrease in migrant numbers with a Whimbrel, 1 Short-eared Owl, 12 Sand Martin, 5 Swallow, 12 Chiffchaff, a Blackcap, 3 Goldcrest, 1 Fieldfare, a Redwing, 5 Song Thrush, a Black Redstart, 7 Wheatear, 15 Pied Wagtail, a White Wagtail, 1 Barmbling and a Siskin.

Movement south was yet again curtailed. The current trend of northerlies in spring does little for visible migration at Spurn, with todays offerings of just 6 Jackdaw, a Rook, 11 Carrion Crow, 4 Swallow, an Alba Wagtail, 1 Meadow Pipit and 10 Linnet.

A Great White Egret was the pick of the days sightings on Kilnsea wetlands, where the resident Whooper Swan remained. There was also 2 Pale-bellied Brent, 3 Tufted Duck and a Marsh Harrier among the usuals.

Ringing: 1 Blackbird, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Wheatear, 2 Goldfinch, 1 Linnet.

A cool overcast day, with the odd light rain and threats of sunshine with a light 2-3 north westerly. Watches: 0640-1010.

There was a decent increase in migrant numbers, bringing the first Sedge Warbler to chalky point, 2 Yellow Wagtail at Kilnsea wetlanda and a Whimbrel onto Long bank marsh. Other  migramts included a Little-ringed Plover, 2 Short-eared Owl, 5 Sand Martin, 10 Chiffchaff, a Blackcap, 1 Goldcrest, 2 Fieldfare, 2 Redwing, 4 Song Thrush, a Black Redstart, 15 Wheatear, 26 Pied Wagtail, 20 Chaffinch and 2 Brambling.

There was some very light movement involving 50 Meadow Pipit and 3 Redwing fltying north west, a Marsh Harrier, 18 Carrion Crow and a Siskin south while a Red Kite wandered the area. The sea faired a little better with 4 Velvet Scoter north, the highlight, plus 2 Shoveler, 2 Teal, 5 Common Scoter, 10 Red-throated Diver, 18 Black-headed Gull and a Fulmar. 

Other bits of note were the Whooper Swan, a Red-breasted Merganser, 1 Marsh Harrfier, 5 Common Buzzard and 3 Barn Owl.

Ringing: 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Great Tit, 2 Chaffinch, 1 Greenfinch, 2 Goldfinch.

A cool grey day, rain in the morning with a F4 south westerly.  Watches: 0640-1015.

While there was not much change overall, the relatively milder weather gives hope to some new arrivals in the coming days, a Little-ringed Plover on Kilnsea wetlands being the frist for a while, along with 2 Sand Martin, a Swallow, 6 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap, 2 Goldcrest, 38 Blackbird, 4 Song Thrush, a Black Redstart, 2 Stonechat, a Wheatear, 20 Pied Wagtail, 26 Chaffinch and a Brambling.

On the move overland were 3 Rook, a Jackdaw, 2 Carrion Crow, a Sand Martin, 1 Swallow, 5 Alba Wagtail, 34 Chaffinch, 22 Linnet and 3 Goldfinch, while the best of the Razorbill free sea were 2 Mallard, a Red--breasted Merganser and 24 Curlew out east.

The Whooper Swan remianed by long bank, 2 Pale-bellied Brents, 753 Dark-bellied Brents, 3 Tufted Duck and a Red-breasted Merganser were on Kilnsea wetlands.

Ringing: 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap, 1 Goldcrest, 1 Goldfinch.

Sunny with the odd cloud and a reduced F4 north westerly. Watches: 0640-0930.

It was maybe due to the lighter winds, but there were slightly more migarnts about, while Brent Geese numbers increased as they often do at this time of year, gathering before their journey back to the breeding grounds. Migrants included a Jack Snipe, 5 Snipe, a Short-eared Owl, a Coal Tit, 9 Chiffchaff, 2 Goldcrest, 3 Song Thrush, 2 Black Redstart, a Stonechat, 1 Wheatear, 19 Pied Wagtail, a White Wagtail, 18 Chaffinch and 2 Siskin.

The KIlnsea wetlands area held 645 Dark-bellied Brent, 4 Pale-bellied Brent, the Whooper Swan, 14 Shoveler, 17 Gadwall, 68 Wigeon, 30 Teal, 3 Tufted Duck, a Red-breasted Merganser, 2 Goldeneye, 4 Black-tailed Godwit and 2 Barn Owl. 

Ringing: 1 Blackbird, 1 Coal Tit, 3 Chaffinch, 3 Goldfinch.

A bitterly cold day with snow showers throughout driven by a F6 north westerly.  Watches: 0635-1210.

The sea was again relatively poor, given the conditions with 5 Common Scoter, a Red-breasted Merganser, 4 Red-throaated Diver, a Fulmar, 21 Gannet, 3 Cormorant, an Oystercatcher, 123 Kittiwake, a Guillemot and 3 Auk sp.

The kilnsea wetlands area had all the usual Wildfowl plus 2 Pale-bellied Brent among the 472 Dark-bellied Brent, the Whooper Swan, 3 Tufted Duck, a Red-breasted Merganser, 12 Little Egret, 3 Black-tailed Godwit and a Greenshank.

Few migrants seen in the conditions with a Jack Snipe, 8 Chiffchaff, a Song Thrush, 17 Chaffinch, a Brambling and 3 Siskin, were recorded by birders brave enough to go out..

Ringing: 2 Chiffchaff, 4 Chaffinch, 1 Siskin.

A cold day with the strong F6-7 northwesterly, light morning snow showers clearing to blue skies and sunshine. Watches: 0645-0930.

There was a drop off in overall migrant numbers,though a nice Long-eared Owl was trapped in Churchfield, while aso seen, a Ruff, 3 Chiffchaff, a Mistle Thrush, 1 Black Redstart, a Stonechat, 12 Pied Wagtail, 13 Chaffinch and a Brambling.

A Red Kite wandered the Easington area, there were 3 Pale-bellied Brent Geese on Kilnsea wetlands plus 3 Tufted Duck, a Red-breasted Merganser, 12 Little Egret and 3 Black-tailed Godwit.

The sea had vey little of note bar 16 Common Scoter, 11 Gannet and 6 Kittiwake.

Ringing: 1 Long-eared Owl, 1 Goldfinch.

A generally sunny day, clouding over in the evening with a increasing cold F4 north easterly to F6 north. Watches: 0645-0930.

There was an increase in some migrant numbers, just before the cold blast from the north is forecast to arrive. Todays totals were not too bad considering the conditions with the first Ruff of the spring, 4 Jack Snipe, 17 Snipe, 35 Sand Martin, a Swallow, the Cetti's Warbler still singing at the Point, 2 Willow Warbler, 17 Chiffchaff, 4 Goldcrest, a Fieldfare, 1 Black Redstart, 2 Stonechat, 2 Wheatear, 18 Pied Wagtail, 2 White Wagtail.

Maybe with the imminent weather there was a bit of movement south which included 2 Banacle Geese, a Woodlark, 3 Wood Pigeon, 38 Jackdaw, 10 Rook, 10 Carrion Crow, 5 Sand Martin, a Swallow, 4 Alba Wagtail, 2 Meadow Pipit, 4 Chaffinch, 28 Linnet, 4 Goldfinch, 2 Siskin, a Corn Bunting and 3 Yellowhammer. It was quiet over the sea though 9 Pintail were noteworthy.

Other bits of note were 4 Pale-bellied Brent among 350 Brent Geese, the Whooper Swan, 72 Teal, 2 Tufted Duck, 17 Avocet and 3 Greenshank mainly around Kilnsea wetlands. 

Ringing: 2 Chiffchaff, 3 Goldcrest, 1 House Sparrow, 1 Blackbird, 1 Great Tit, 2 Chaffinch, 1 Goldfinch, 11 Linnet.

Overcast for much of the day with a conituing chilly F4 north easterly.  Watches: 0630-1000.

Migrants numbers remained static with the cool winds just about stopping migration along the coast, but a few bits are still about with totals of a Woodcock. 1 Jack Snipe, a Snipe, the Cetti's Warbler still singing at the Point, 10 Chiffchaff, a Blackcap, 4 Song Thrush, 2 Black Redstart, 14 Chaffinch, 3 Brambling and 3 Siskin.

Movemtn over sea and land was pretty slow, but a White-fronted Goose north was nice along with 6 Eider, 5 Common Scoter, 7 Red-throated Diver, 2 Fulmar, 5 Gannet, 3 Kittiwake, 16 Herring Gull, 2 Guillemot and a Razorbill. 

The Kilnsea wetlands area continues to be good with a Barnacle Goose, 400 Brent Geese, 3 Pale-bellied Brents, 82 Shelduck, 2 Tufted Duck and a Greenshank among all the usual f=hordes.

RINGING: 1 Wood Pigeon, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Blue Tit, 1 Chaffinch, 1 Greenfinch, 6 Goldfinch.

A cold overcast day with a chilly F4 north easterly. Watches: 0645-1050.

The weather is predicted to be cold for the next few days or so in complete contrast to the fine sunny weather recently. There were less migrants on show with just 6 Chiffchaff, a Blackcap, 4 Goldcrest, 2 Fieldfare, 4 Redwing, 2 Black Redstart, 5 Pied Wagtail, 21 Chaffinch, 2 Brambling and a Siskin.

Moving over the sea were a fairly typical range of species with 9 Eider, 11 Common Scoter, 15 Red-throated Diver, a Great Northern Diver, 4 Gannet, 6 Kittiwake, 3 Guillemot and 5 Auk sp.

Sightings from the Kilnsea wetlands area included a Barnacle Goose, 600 Dark-bellied Brent Geese along with 1 Pale-bellied Brent, a Whooper Swan, 20 Shoveler, the 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Goosander and a Greenshank.

A cloudy overcast day with some afternoon sunshine and a chilly F4 north easterly.  Watches: 0615-1000.

There was a notable decrease in migrant numbers with 20 Chiffchaff, 7 Goldcrest, a Redwing, 2 Song Thrush, a Wheatear, 1 White Wagtail, 8 Pied Wagtail, 8 Chaffinch, a Brambling and 2 Siskin.

The change to the north east saw overland visible migration grind to a halt, the sea having surprsiingly little too with 2 Eider, a Velvet Scoter, 19 Common Scoter, 14 Red-throated Diver, 2 Fulmar, 7 Gannet, 15 Kittiwake, 19 Common Gull, 36 Herring Gull and 6 Auk sp. 

Other bits of note were 2 Pale-bellied Brent on Easington stright, 2 Tufted Duck on Kilnsea wetlands and 476 Linnet in the area (400 at Sammy's).

Ringing: 2 Chiffchaff, 1 Robin, 1 Dunnock, 4 Chaffinch, 1 Brambling, 4 Goldfinch.
